It ranks as Level 2 for a few reasons - things like the food recall instead of the researchers controlling what was eaten; the small number who actually were selected in the follow-ups which excluded some from the random selection process; self-reporting by the participants of medical issues they may have had..https://www.blogger.com/profile/09224160356421549054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13260386.post-1141869819000074472006-03-08T20:03:00.000-06:002006-03-08T20:03:00.000-06:00newbirth, I think that the level of evidence for t...newbirth,
I think that the level of evidence for the WHI study would rate no higher than a Level 2. You could also "rate" the conclusions of that study as barely Level 3! :-)

I say that because the control group seemed to not be that well controlled and you could say the same for the intervention group. At best the data is "soft" and if anything did not produce the results the researchers claimed, as Regina pointed out in her blog.

Hope that answered your question.
Regards,
LarryLarryAJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12358226974644687928noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13260386.post-1141866141475836452006-03-08T19:02:00.000-06:002006-03-08T19:02:00.000-06:00color me confused...LOL...I think your comment got...color me confused...LOL...I think your comment got attached to the wrong article - but if you're asking the level of fat intake for the WHI study - the goal was 20%, at year 1 intake was 24% and at year 6 it was a bit less than 28%..https://www.blogger.com/profile/09224160356421549054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13260386.post-1141861008108095452006-03-08T17:36:00.000-06:002006-03-08T17:36:00.000-06:00Out of curiosity, what "level" was the WHI study?Out of curiosity, what "level" was the WHI study?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13390991269990163088noreply@blogger.com
