"Lowering your intake of dietary cholesterol does nothing to improve your cholesterol." Absolutely 100% false. That's like saying that drinking water does nothing to hydrate your body. Dietary cholesterol is only found in animal sources: meat and dairy. When you reduce your intake of this and eat more plant-based whole foods such as vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, and seeds, your cholesterol decreases. This is an undisputable fact.

What is the point of this article, anyway? To tell readers that the Average American Diet is acceptable, and not to try to improve? The evidence is all around you. Do people look healthy or do they look overweight? This is actually the first generation whereby children are expected to live for fewer years than their parents, because of how bad the typical American diet is.

If you want to actually read something helpful, read "Eat to Live" by Dr. Joel Furhman.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13260386.post-13419555289715405092013-06-25T23:30:16.296-05:002013-06-25T23:30:16.296-05:00For years people did not understand why olive oil,...For years people did not understand why olive oil, with its saturated fats, promoted longevity. Scientists continued to vilify them and promoted "winterized" omega 6 oils to eliminate them.

Now they know saturated fats are essential to health. They break down the "harmful" ldl cholesterol into two groups. LDL-A is actually good for you and LDL-B is bad and causes heart disease. Well, saturated fats actually increase the A to B ratio, so they are actually essential.

Let me suggest "The Great Cholesterol Myth--why lowering your cholesterol won't prevent heart disease" by Jonny Bowden and Stephen Sinatra.

It will be a while before the old school adopts the truth.
